Photos: TEXAS Wildflowers and Bees

Today rain is falling and more storms are on the way, it is a perfect day to review and re-live moments of  joy with the wild things. My Texas Wildflowers have bloomed and with this comes the "Small Creatures", the ones that test your patience and skill as a real nature photographer. Outside my cave window I can watch and learn as I view the wild things up close, flowers, bees, butterflies and birds. I have a special friend, the woodpecker that keeps me informed as to when the sunflower seeds are getting low.

Here are a few of yesterdays memory and sunshine, enjoy.

PHOTO: Swamping in the Swamps

Went to the swamps yesterday and found even them flooded, no pigs, gators or deer, only waders. It was not a disappointment, I was in my zone.

My Arkansas Hide Away

Saturday I treated myself to a getaway, no phones and no gaukers, just me, camera and nature. We had lunch beside a river and listened to the music of the rapids and the birds; I must admit I did close my eyes for awhile. These creatures treated me to some photographs that I hope all enjoy.

Photo: Owl...Sunning on a Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday was cool but sunny, I traveled to "My Walden Pond", the owls were active along with the Red Tails. The gators were shy due to the cool temperature but being away from the phony social world was great. The lunch on the tailgate with nature all around made the food even better. We found one coyote but it was on the run and no photographs of it. A few wildflowers are starting to appear, in a couple of weeks the wildflower photography will be starting to get good

PHOTO'S : Wildlife Great Day

Today was a great day for this wildlife lover, although I cannot tell where I was for the safety of some of the wildlife. I had the pleasure of photographing a recently located eagle nest and a pair of eagles at the nest. The attached photos show the size of the nest, also photographed gators, hawks, and great photographs of owls. Had the pleasure of seeing a weasel but to fast for photographs. Wild hogs, and all of this in the company of people that share my love of nature, I will never forget this day.

" Following the Rule" or "Comand" Simple

by Dennis Waters on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 10:31am

This environment and society I live in is tiring and breathes no new life into me; it is like existing in a dark dank cellar where no freshness ever shows its face. The people have resemblances of robots programmed to do a certain assignment and no more. The assignments give the impression of being as arrogant as possible and only seek riches. Simple (* direct, sincere, or lacking any form of deceitfulness) is misunderstood and takes on the appearance of (*naive and lacking in depth and detail.)  I admire Abby, Muir, and Thoreau, for their desire to live a “simple life” and predict the future, which is now the present; and they were correct in the predictions. "Phony or simple? Nature is to be enjoyed in solitude and thanks.

Photo: Barn "OLD BEAUTY"

Today we are expecting seventy-degree weather and only last week this was the scene. I have found that beauty exist anywhere one can find solitude, seclusion and the gift of nature. In the presence of  the gifts God created one can find peace and understanding, and if we listen closely we will  receive the answers to our questions about life.

PHOTO: WINTER GATOR------ IN ARKANSAS

Went North yesterday looking for wildlife, the day turned into spring as the temperature climbed into the seventies. The hawks were plenty along with over 50 deer counted. I decided to check some favorite gator holes and found this gator sunning on a log far down a secluded slough, I was unable to find more but one thrills me. I did locate and photograph several owls.

"Spring Feaver"

With six inches of snow and 19 degrees in East Texas I found it necessary to slide back into the archives for some spring warmth and beauty. I go to the Red River bottoms in the spring to enjoy these "Dickcissel's" and their continous song. Enjoying winter and looking for spring and the Dickcissel.

PHOTO: Nature at my cave window

As I worked on editing photographs and writting at my computer I had a special visitor, along with many more special ones. Beauty can be found even on cold gloomy days while confined in little boxes. It serves to remind me what is waiting just beyond these walls.

"Seclusion on a Winter Day"

A cold winter day on the Caddo, no gators, only the sounds of a slow easy life. Winter birds gliding from place to place and the warning sound of  the "waders" as you approach their territory. Life is good, whenever you find solitude.
