Nature Happenings: Living the Good Life

Nature Happenings: Living the Good Life

Today I returned to one of my favorite nature and wildlife photography locations. It had been some time since the last visit due to interferences that should never have been. We had our normal large sack of snacks and lunch and we were looking for new gators to photograph. This did not happen, however, we found something that seldom affords me the opportunity to photograph in this local, Osprey.
We had photographed flowers, insects, deer, wild hogs and many other subjects and decided to go to our favorite bluff in a secluded location where we always go to have lunch and sometimes a nap, it overlooks the river (no name for the protection of the wildlife and I am selfish). While we were getting the grub spread on the tailgate a large shadow passed on the ground, as I looked up I first thought an immature Bald and then recognized it as an "Osprey" a very rare sight and find for this area. The camera began to fire, then the second one appeared.
The day produced photographs of deer, insects, butterflies, wildflowers. Sightings of wild hogs, owls and hawks; yes it was a great day to not photograph Gators !
Sometimes it is best to go with the flow, today was one of those days, NOT ONE GATOR WAS LOCATED.

Need the Mountains

I have the urge to travel North from this cave in East Texas. I feel a need for mountains,  clear streams, camera and friendly humans. I need to awaken to foggy valley's and wildlife and the sound of the pilated woodpecker, see the elk grazing and smell the aroma of wet trees.
Pack a lunch and not return until the owls start to hoot in the evenings. Yep thats my desire.
