Eagle photography on a cold winter day

Click for Nash, Texas Forecast Wind was blowing a cold breath from the North and my trigger finger was cold. After a three hour wait one of the pair flew in from the southwest and perched across the lake from my camera. The next three hours was thrilling, but the mate had not appeared at dusk. This is the high I enjoy, the wait, then the adrenaline rush. Give me NATURE above all the social balls.

Watching the Clouds

Late evening and to the North I see dark clouds, they remind me of the late evenings in the Boxley Valley and the Boston Mts. The elk should be bedding down and the night creatures starting to roam.In the distance the owl starts to call and the aroma of fireplaces filter through the valley. Yes, I am a dreamer of fine times away from the social want-a-be's ! Just plain ole simple with nature.

Dreaming on a rainy day

Rain is falling here in East Texas, the sky is dark and I long to be in the Ponca Valley with the elk. Really, I long to be on any mountain with plenty of seclusion and simple "Goings-On", simple people and freedom from this "social society".
I should be out photographing and following some critter through the woods or looking for eagles on the "Skull Crusher".
I have put fresh seeds outside my cave window and the birds are happy and so am I. My two pups are streched out in front of the fireplace dreaming.

Looking for the Bald Eagle

Click for Nash, Texas Forecast  Spent yesterday watching a nest and waiting for the return of a pair that have returned to the south, but it was a "no show" day for the eagles. It was not a loss because I was out where the wildlife lives.

Longing for Ponca Valley

Click for Nash, Texas Forecast  Rain falling here in East Texas and I am longing to be in the Ponca Valley with the elk, seclusion and solitude. I would settle for any mountain that would show me wildlife and the absence of this "social society". I have endured society  as much as I can handle. The "Skull Crusher probably has some Bald Eagles just waiting for me to come photograph their antics.
